Global Youth Strikes Friday 25th February 2022 see: #FridaysForFuture is a youth-led and -organised movement that began in August 2018, after 15-year-old Greta Thunberg and other young activists sat in front of the Swedish parliament every school day for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis. She posted what she was doing on Instagram and Twitter and it soon went viral.
Extinction Rebellion Saturday 26th February 10:30am outside the County Court, next to the Guildhall, Armada Way: Join the funeral procession for the Planet and Ecology – walk around the City Centre to Barclays Bank – the largest financier of fossil fuels of any bank in Europe. Festival with music, events, talks and stalls at the Leadworks, Rendle Street from 2pm to late night (entrance by ticket after 5pm). Light snacks and licensed bar.
